Rodney Edwards

Rodney Edwards is an award-winning Journalist, Broadcaster and Columnist from Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.

For over five years, he has been contributing to various local and national newspapers and magazines in the UK.

Newspapers and Magazines

Edwards has worked in general news, features, music and showbiz. His work includes serious issues such as hate crime and suicide, as well as entertainment news. Edwards also captured an exclusive interview with Farris Hassan, the boy who ran away to Iraq. The scoop made headlines of its own in national and regional newspapers, and Rodney was also interviewed about the story on Northern Ireland’s UTV Live News programme. Fact|date=January 2008

In 2005, he was named Young Journalist of the Year in association with the Daily Mirror. Fact|date=January 2008

Currently, Rodney works with The Sun, Daily Mirror, Daily Star, Sunday Mirror, News of the World, The People, More Magazine and Heat Magazine. He continues to contribute showbiz stories to the national papers as well as regular shift work around the UK for various tabloids and broadsheets. He also regularly writes weekly features for Northern Ireland's Impartial Reporter and various items for the Belfast Telegraph.

From October - December 2008, Rodney appeared in the News of the World as its infamous "Captain Cash" where he visited supermarkets across Northern Ireland dishing out hundreds of pounds to one lucky family each week. Also in October 2008, Rodney joined the Sunday Life as a columnist after a redesign of the popular tabloid. His new column is read by over 200,000 people across Northern Ireland each week.

Radio

In 2006, he joined Vibe FM in Fermanagh. At the station he presented a number of central shows such as Mid-Morning, Vibe's Most Wanted, Vibe Today and The Vibe Vault. In October 2007, he started freelancing for Downtown Radio and Cool FM, covering news and features around the province.

In March 2008, Rodney landed the prestigious Bigger Breakfast Show on Vibe FM and left in July 2008.
