Tony Balluff

Anthony James Balluff (born January 31, 1967)
clarinetist, composer, arranger and bandleader.

Born in Minnetonka, Minnesota, and raised in south Minneapolis. Balluff began playing jazz as early as high school. Already a skilled classical performer, he went on to study with members of the Hall Brothers Jazz Band, and Dr. Henry Blackburn.

Tony Balluff's tastes in jazz have run the gamut from early jazz (traditional or Dixieland jazz) to modern jazz. He has settled into a groove by focusing on traditional New Orleans jazz and Gypsy jazz.

Balluff performs regularly in Minnesota and at major jazz festivals nationally, including the New Orleans French Quarter Festival.
