Muslim majority countries, in whichIslam is the majority religion of the people. In a geopolitical sense these countries are often considered to form theMuslim world . The list only contains countries which are predominantly Muslim, meaning the Muslim population constitutes at least 50% of the total population. India, however, is not included even though it has one of the largest Muslim populations in the world, theIndian Muslim population is only 13.4% of the total population (majority areSunni , who mainly follow theBarelvi traditions.).
