- Edward "Ted" Delaney
Edward J. Delaney (born 1957) is an author, documentary filmmaker, college professor and journalist. His publishing credits include the short-story collection "The Drowning and Other Stories," and the novel "Warp & Weft," which received the PEN/L.L. Winship Award in 2005. His documentary work includes "The Times Are Never So Bad: The Life of
Andre Dubus ," which debuted at the 2007Rhode Island International Film Festival , and screened at film festivals throughout the U.S.Delaney is Assistant Editor of the Nieman Journalism Lab, the digital-media initiative of The Nieman Foundation, Harvard University.
As a faculty member since 1990 at
Roger Williams University , Delaney is a full professor in the Communications and Creative Writing departments.Delaney's most recent journalistic print publication was "Where Great Writers Are Made" in the 2007 fiction issue of
The Atlantic Monthly . He has published short stories inThe Atlantic Monthly and other literary magazines and quarterlies. His work has been anthologized in the Best American Short Stories andO. Henry Award annuals.He is also a 2008
National Endowment for the Arts Literary Fellow.Delaney was also a reporter for
The Denver Post and a columnist for The Colorado Springs Gazette. He was recipient of a National Education Writing Award in 1988.
