The "Impétueux" was a "Téméraire" class 74-gun ship of the line of the French Navy.
She took part in the Bataille du 13 prairial an 2, where she boarded HMS "Marlborough". She was totally dismasted, and while she enjoyed temporary support from "Mucius", she was eventually captured.
She was renamed HMS "Impétueux", and was destroyed in an accidental file at Portsmouth on 24 August.
