Aryanil Mukherjee

Aryanil Mukhopadhyay (Mukherjee in English) (born 1964) is a Bengali language poet who also writes in English occasionally. He grew up in Kolkata (erstwhile Calcutta) and began to write since the early 1990s. From his early years, he had been quietly involved with some of the parallel literary movements that grew in the margins of mainstream literature. Aryanil is published widely in Bengali poetry circles. He has authored two books of poetry and a collection of hybrid-prose. He is also a prolific poetry-columnist who writes regularly in both electronic and print media. In 2007 Aryanil received the Subhas Mukhopadhyay Smarak Samman [Subhas Mukhopadhyay Memorial Award] from the "Kabita Pakkhik" (Poetry Fortnightly) magazine & press, Kolkata.
