Veruka

Veruka was a New York City nightclub in Downtown Manhattanowned by Noel Ashman. The club, which was open from January 1997 until June 2004, was known for its strict door policy and roster of celebrity patrons.

History

The club was located on Broome Street at Sixth Avenue. The club has a multi-tiered lounge. In 2001, designer Todd Oldham redesigned the club. Hip-hop songwriter John Forte (of the Fugees) was among the club's celebrity DJs.

The club attracted media attention for its celebrity patrons, which included members of the New York Yankees baseball team, such as Derek Jeter, David Wells, and David Cone, and a selection of Hollywood actors and other entertainers, including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Mark Wahlberg, Sean Penn, Robert Deniro, Mariah Carey, and Christy Turlington.
