Terrence Hayes is a prize-winning
poet , born inColumbia, South Carolina in1971 .He has won the
Kate Tufts Discovery Award , theWhiting Writers Award , aPushcart Prize , a Best American Poetry selection, and aNational Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. He earned his B.A. fromCoker College . He is the author of "Wind in a Box" (Penguin, 2006), "Hip Logic" (2002), which won theNational Poetry Series , and "Muscular Music" (1999).
