St. Patrick's Semi Military Academy was closed by Mother Mary Victoria, the Principal in 1986. The facilities were rented to the Orange County School District.

St. Pat's offered classes from the 3rd to 8th grade. Since 1945 most of the all male students were boarders. There were a few day students from local towns. Harry Adams was the Drill Instructor, Prof. Robert Ortone was the Music Director and Band Leader. Angela Mena, who is Harry Adams Spouse, was the Glee Club Director. Monsignor. James B. Sullivan was the School Chaplain and spiritual leader.

In uniforms that were a replica of West Point Cadets, the school marched down Fifth Avenue, behind their own band, in the St. Patrick's and Columbus Day parades. Also the school Glee Club performed at the NYC Port Authority during the Christmas holidays.

The school would not survive in today's environment since corporal punishment was an every day affair. There was some strict discipline, but this might not be every day event.

As of March 2007, the main dormitory building and old school building appeared as if they have not been used in quite some time. The properties are not well kept with no signs of life anywhere.
