Connie Lapallo is a historical fiction novelist from Mechanicsville, Virginia whose debut novel Dark Enough to See the Stars in a Jamestown Sky did surprisingly well considering it was self-published by Llumina Press. With the help of her family, she successfully continues to market her own work, doing book signings and speaking engangements to bring in extra cash while she works on the sequel to her novel, which she plans to call When The Moon Has No More Silver.

Background

Lapallo has lived in Mechanicsville her whole life—actually, she likes to joke that her ancestors came to Jamestown in the 17th century and they basically stayed in the area to this day. She's half "Old Virginan" on her mother's side, and half Sicilian on her father's side. She has four kids Sarah, Michael, Kerry, and Adam, who she homeschooled since Sarah was in second grade. Being a stay-at-home, homeschool mom of 4 AND write a 50,000 word historically accurate novel wasn't easy, especially since her first novel took her 8 years to research and write, but Lapallo felt a strong calling to tell the story of the women at Jamestown who are often forgotten and ignored.
