website_name =Montsaye Community College is a large college in
Rothwell .It is state funded and was granted dual specialty status in late 2004, adding Humanities to its well established Language College status. Over 1200 students attend the college, which until recent years had consistently attained a 5 A*-C pass rate of around 60%, although the pass rate has fallen to around 51% in 2007. Mrs Sue Fennell is the current head teacher. The school received a good review fromOFSTED in 2006. Montsaye is also the site of the recently developed Rothwell Swimming Pool, which now incorporates a modern sports center used both by the school and the community.:The children in the school are aged 11-18 and come mainly fromDesborough and Rothwell as well as surrounding villages.The school has around 1200 students and over 100 members of staff.History
The original school was opened in
1955 , but the older buildings have been extensively remodeled. Since becoming acomprehensive school in1976 Montsaye has more than doubled in size and has had a series of major building extensions.In 2004/05 extensive building work took place which has provided additional teaching areas for
Mathematics andScience , an I.C.T suite, refurbished administrative accommodation and a visitor reception area. In addition, thesixth form area was remodeled in order to provide a purpose built educational support center, new laboratories and an extension to thelibrary to provide study facilities and a resource base. More recently a major project funded by the Big Lottery has provided the college and community with a sports facility consisting of four badminton courts a sports hall and a refurbished swimming pool.The college was granted Language College status in September
2000 and in addition, in September 2004, was also granted Humanities College status as a second specialism.ource
