Tickle Me Ernie

Tickle Me Ernie is a children's toy from Tyco Toys, introduced in the United States in February 1997 as a variation of the popular Tickle Me Elmo toy. Ernie it's a Muppet character from Sesame Street, when squeezed, Ernie would chortle. When squeezed three times in a row, Ernie would begin to shake and laugh.

Toy background

The vibrating laughter produced by the Tickle Me Ernie uses a larger version of the vibration motor found in cellular phones and game controllers which feature force feedback.

Popularity

As expected Tickle Me Ernie never neared the popularity achieved by Tickle Me Elmo which was released a year before.
