Research and Development Centre for Electrical Engineering and Automation in Mining EMAG (Centrum Elektryfikacji i Automatyzacji Górnictwa) is an Polish state research and development institution that was established in 1975 due to reorganization of the scientific and research base of Polish mining industry. From its beginning EMAG creates solutions for underground coal mines, and coal processing industry. As a national institution Emag Centre is subordinate to Ministry of science and higher education of Poland. It cooperates with many polish scientific institutions including University of Science and Technology in
Cracow ,Silesian University of Technology , Experimental Coal Mine "KD Barbara" and other foreign institutions. However scientific and research activity is about 25% of total turnover and the most important part of EMAG's activity is selling services and production of specialized devices.Nowadays it's activity is focused on:
*measuring devices: stationary and portablecoal analyzer s, belt conveyor scales
*methane&fire detection systems (elements and full system)
*elements of automation and remote control ofshearer s, and other underground devices
*geophysics (systems for seismic monitoring activity and rock burst forecast)
*hearing screening (devices for newborn's hearing screening)
*elements for power supply of underground coal mines
