Its seat is the town of Boguchwała, which lies approximately convert|7|km|mi|0 south-west of the regional capital Rzeszów.

The gmina covers an area of convert|96.19|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 20,945 (out of which the population of Boguchwała is 5,535).
