Its seat is the village of Stubno, which lies approximately convert|20|km|mi|0 north-east of Przemyśl and convert|71|km|mi|0|abbr=on east of the regional capital Rzeszów.

The gmina covers an area of convert|89.12|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 3,959.
