Its seat is the village of Krzywcza, which lies approximately convert|17|km|mi|0 west of Przemyśl and convert|47|km|mi|0|abbr=on south-east of the regional capital Rzeszów.

The gmina covers an area of convert|94.47|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 5,048.

The gmina contains part of the protected area called Pogórze Przemyskie Landscape Park.
