Its seat is the village of Krempna, which lies approximately convert|26|km|mi|0 south of Jasło and convert|68|km|mi|0|abbr=on south-west of the regional capital Rzeszów.

The gmina covers an area of convert|203.58|km2|sqmi|1, and as of 2006 its total population is 1,963.
