Muso Kokushi (c. 1275—1351) was a Japanese Rinzai Zen priest of the Muromachi period that helped Ashikaga shogunate Takauji construct a network of Zen monasteries across Japan. This helped to create a national religious movement, and solidify the shogun's power.
