Kyogen Carlson is a Sōtō Zen priest, author, and head abbot of Dharma Rain Zen Center located in Portland, Oregon. He was ordained as monk at Shasta Abbey by Jiyu Kennett in 1972, and received Dharma transmission from her five years later. His co-abbot at Dharma Rain is his wife, Gyokuko Carlson.
