- 20 Cigarettes
"20 Cigarettes" is originally a radio play commissioned by the BBC, and written by Marcy Kahan, authoress of the 1991 film "Antonia and Jane" starring Imelda Staunton and Saskia Reeves. Kahan was commissioned in 2007 to rewrite the play for the stage by the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain [ [http://www.nyt.org.uk/ National Youth Theatre ] ] . The product was directed by Toby Frow, and was, contrary to contemporary media assertions [ [http://www.thisislondon.co.uk/theatre/article-23410149-details/Jagger's+son+lights+up+the+stage/article.do Jagger's son lights up the stage| Theatre | This is London ] ] , the first instance of smoking on stage after the English smoking ban. It was performed between 15th-30th August 2007 at the Soho Theatre [ [http://www.sohotheatre.com/pl1321.html 20 cigarettes - Soho Theatre, London ] ] as part of the Soho Theatre's collaboration with the NYT. The 2007 production was also the first to include a non-youth actor, in Simon Dutton, one of the actors who played the protagonist, "Simon Templar" in the television series "The Saint".
