During World War II the 10th participated in airborne invasions of North Africa, Sicily, and
Greece ; support of partisans in theBalkans , and transportation in theMediterranean Theater of Operations . The 10th took part in theBerlin Airlift from 1948-1949 and continued airlift operations inEurope until 1961. It conducted airlift in connection with aircraft delivery from 1969-1970 and performed the airlift portion of the European Distribution System from 1983-1990.Operations
