- Kabarole District
Kabarole is a district of western
Uganda . The chairman of the district,Augustine Bafaaki Kayonga , is also the head of the local government. The seat of government is inFort Portal , the mayor of which isEdson Asaba Ruyonga . The residents of Fort Portal are mainly of theBatooro ethnicity, but the district has diverse cultures and people, such as theBakiga . Kabarole District was originally much larger and was made up of present-dayKamwenge ,Kyenjojo and Kabarole.The Toro kingdom is headed by Rukidi IV. While in western Uganda you can listen to the local radio station
Voice of Toro on 101 FM. It serves the whole of western Uganda and some parts of the central.
