Merkaz Haver

Merkaz Haver

Merkaz Haver (Hebrew: _he. מרכז חבר) is a communal settlement in the Ta'anakh region in northern Israel. It belongs to the Gilboa Regional Council.

The community was founded originally as a regional center for the three neighboring communities: Barak, Adirim, and Devorah.

In 1982 it was converted to a communal settlement, and it was expanded.

The name "Merkaz Haver" is derived from Yael, who was "the wife of Haver" in chapters 4 and 5 of the Book of Judges. The story described in Judges took place in this area.
