List of Cardiff City F.C. players

This is a list of notable players of Cardiff City Football Club. The club was founded in 1899 as Riverside A.F.C. by members of a local cricket club, before changing to Cardiff City in 1907. They made their debut appearance in the FA Cup in 1912 and were elected into the Football League eight years later in 1920, moving into their new stadium Ninian Park. Phil Dwyer is the current record holder of appearance records in both league matches and all competitions having played for the club from 1972 to 1985. The player with the most appearances in all competitions who still plays for the club is Joe Ledley, having made his debut in 2004. Len Davies who had an eleven year spell at Cardiff between 1920 to 1931, is the current holder of scoring records in both league and all competitions.

List

The list includes all Cardiff City players who have made 100 or more appearances in competitive matches since 1920 in any first class competition - Football League, FA Cup, League Cup, Football League Trophy, Welsh Cup, FAW Premier Cup and FA Charity Shield as well as European matches in the European Cup Winners Cup. Substitute appearances are included but wartime fixtures are not.
