Persian : عفت قاضی)(2 November 1935 –6 September 1990 ) was a Swedish woman ofIran ian-Kurdish descent who was murdered in 1990.Effat Ghazi was the daughter of the Kurdish nationalist leader
Qazi Muhammad . On 6 September 1990 she was killed in her apartment inVästerås , Sweden, after she had opened aletter bomb addressed to her husband, the Kurdish political activistAmir Ghazi . She died at hospital four hours later from her wounds. Her husband was a leading member of theKurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) and this attack had many similarities to other assassinations and assassination attempts on Iranian-Kurdish political dissidents around the world at this time. The Iranian government was suspected of having ordered the murder as in many of the other cases.
