There is war in the kingdom of birds, which was started by the prehistoric birds known as the
archaeopteryx es. In the only place where birds are still safe, a magical island called Kauria, the king, Pephero the phoenix, orders his birds to make a sword. Once the sword had been forged, a tear gem fell from the sky as the war saddened the Great Spirit, a godly entity watching over birds. As the gem landed on the sword's hilt, it shattered into seven other gemstones, each of one colour of the rainbow, the Leasorn Gems. These hold clues to where the magical kingdom of Kauria and the sword are found.A bird destined to be the hero will take hold of the sword at the fifth full moon three years from then and rescue the warring world. However shall the sword fall into evil hands, the world of birdkind shall be in peril. "Sword Quest" tells of how Wind-Voice, a half-dove, escapes imprisonment and ventures the bird world in search of the magical gemstones which will bring peace to the world. Along its journey he soons befriends a myna who can't resist its temptation for riches, a woodpecker with a passion for music and writing, and a golden eagle, exiled from its tribe because of his belief that music can bring joy and healing to the world. Together they will face many hardships as their friendship grows stronger in the attempt to stop a zealous warlord from reaching the magical sword.
Sword quest is an inspirational tale which tells of how wisdom and love can be stronger than greed and misplaced zeal.
