- Honeywell ALF 502
The Honeywell ALF 502/LF 507 is a
turbofan engine produced by Lycoming,AlliedSignal and thenHoneywell .The ALF 502 was certified in 1980, and used on theBAe 146 andBombardier Challenger 600 . The improved, higher-thrust LF 507 was used on theAvro RJ update of the BAe 146.The engine was chosen for the BAe 146 because of its quietness and low emissions, achieved using a high-bypass geared fan and a reverse-flow combustion chamber.
