- Jennifer Mankoff
Jennifer Mankoff is an assistant
professor in theHuman-Computer Interaction Institute atCarnegie Mellon University , where she joined the faculty in 2004. She earned her B.A. atOberlin College and her Ph.D. incomputer science at theGeorgia Institute of Technology advised byGregory Abowd and Scott Hudson. She was faculty member in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at theUniversity of California, Berkeley between 2001 and 2004.Her research focuses on tools and techniques for rapid, iterative prototyping of ubiquitous computing applications and accessible technology for people with disabilities. Her research interests also include mediation of ambiguous, recognition-based interfaces. Application areas of her work include assistive technology for people with special needs and the elderly, and health and safety. She was awarded the
Sloan Fellowship in 2007 and the IBM Faculty Fellowship in 2004 & 2006.Selected Publications
