Anna Geislerová

Anna Geislerová is an actress born in the former Czecholsovakia (now Czech Republic) on April 17, 1978. Anna became well known for her role as Eliska/Hana in the 2003 movie Zelary and as Anna in the 1999 movie Navrát idiota (Return of the Idiot). A former model, Anna made her feature film debet at age 12. ^[1]

Career

Anna Geislerová's rise to national fame began at the early age of fourteen when she debuted in Filip Renc's Requiem for a Doll (1991). Since then, the country has followed her career closely, watching her metamorphose into the Czech Republic's most recognized celebrity on the small and silver screen. Her numerous acting credits include Academy Award winner Jan Sverak's Ride (1994) as well as the film adaptation of Michael Viewegh's internationally acclaimed novel Bringing up Girls in Bohemia (1997). ^[2]

Anna has been nominated three times for a Czech Lion (Czech Academy Award) winning twice; firstly for Best Actress in 1999 for her performance in Sasa Gedeon's Return of the Idiot and again in 2003 for Ondrej Trojan's Zelary, which was also nominated for the Best Foreign-Language Film Academy Award.

In 2004, Anna was named one of European films' Shooting Stars by European Film Promotion. ^[3] Anna Geislerová and her husband Zdenìk Janáèek have a daughter Stella Janáèková, who was born 27 July, 2007. She weighed 4 kg and she measured 53 cm.
