Hong Kong at the Olympics
- Hong Kong at the Olympics
Hong Kong first competed at the Olympic Games in 1952, then as a British colony. Hong Kong has participated at every Summer Olympic Games since then except for the boycotted 1980 Games, and has also participated in the Winter Olympic Games since 2002.
The National Olympic Committee (NOC) for Hong Kong was founded in 1950 as the "Amateur Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong", and is now known as the Sports Federation and Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China. After the sovereignty of Hong Kong was transferred to the People's Republic of China in 1997, the NOC for the Special Administrative Region has been designated Hong Kong, China.
