He is a member of theUnion for French Democracy , which is part of theAlliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe , and chairs the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs.He is also a substitute for the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and a member of the delegation to the EU–
