Ever since he was 14 years old his dream was to become a professional gamer and make a living by playing his favorite game - Starcraft. In Starcraft: Broodwar Zdravko Georgiev was playing under the nickname Mr.X. However eSport in Europe wasn't really popular and notable at this point. There were few tournaments and events once in a year and the real pro-gamers were living in Korea. These were the obstacles, which were pretty much preventing the development and growth of Electronic sports and Zdravko as well.
However Mr.X was invited 3 times to Korea to play Starcraft, he even had the opportunity to live and work there as a pro-gamer, but since he was only 15 years old, and he had not finished school, he was unable to accept this offer.
Insomnia and Warcraft III
The actual pro-gaming in his life started with Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, with the games' release in 2002. With its release Zdravko saw a new opportunity to achieve his dream. Everyone thought that the new
RTS game will be a replacement for Starcraft in RTS competitive gaming, so did he.The nickname "Insomnia" was born in September 2002 when Zdravko started playing Warcraft III. Few months later he joined the best and most popular pro-gaming organization in Europe -
Schroet Kommando also known asSK Gaming nowadays. At this point he was not getting a salary, so his dream was half achieved. One year later becoming a pro-gamer was no longer a dream. Insomnia went toSeoul , South Korea to play for teamIntel in the Korean Warcraft III leagues together with MaDFroG,HeMaN ,DominatoR . He won one of the biggest tournaments at the same time -World Cyber Games (WCG) 2003. At this point he became a star among the Warcraft III fans. Everyone recognized his unique playing style and strategies. He was one of the most prominent players in Warcraft III and furthermore he built the outlook of the contemporary human race players and set the example for others to come. His modesty, good manners and genius tactics were admired and highly appreciated by the Warcraft III community worldwide. The year 2003 was the peak of his gaming career. After he won WCG 2003, his dream was achieved, and his standing started to decay. After 5 years with SK Gaming in 2007 Zdravko decided to quit gaming and focus on his studies.
