- Vladimir Kopylov
Vladimir N. Kopylov (Russian: Владимир Николаевич Копылов) (December 02, 1947 in
Leningrad ,Russia – February 18, 2006 in Chernogolovka, near Moscow) was a Russianphysicist . Graduated from Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 1970, with specialization of Radiophysics and Electronics. Most of his career he worked in the Institute of Solid Sate Physics inChernogolovka , near Moscow. He received the highest honor for young scientists in the USSR, theKomsomol prize, for his discovery of thermomagnetic and galvanomagnetic waves, which can propagate in metals [1] . His work of 1995, in collaboration with I.F. Scgegolev and others, led to understanding of theMeissner effect in high-Tc superconductors through the surface barrier effect, also known as Bean-Livingston barrier [2] .Important References:1.KOPYLOV VN, "A STUDY OF THERMOGALVANOMAGNETIC WAVE-DISPERSION IN BISMUTH",Source: FIZIKA NIZKIKH TEMPERATUR Volume: 7 Issue: 5 Pages: 611-622.2.
