Operational History

Constituted as 399th Bombardment Group (Heavy) on 15 Feb 1943. Activated on 1 Mar 1943. Assigned to Second Air Force. Reassigned to Fourth Air Force in Dec 1943. Equipped with B-24's. Served first as an operational training unit and later (Aug 1943) became a replacement training unit.

Disbanded on 31 Mar 1944.
