Sprout safety

Many sprouts are edible, very nutritious and beneficial for human health, while others are toxic (e.g. kidney beans). Still, the safety on handling of the commercial produce has drawn public attention. The major concerns have been linked to the outbreak of "Escherichia coli" infections in Alfalfa Sprouts grown from contaminated seeds or unhygienic production with high microbial counts.cite web
