VG
The original HSV Maloo was the VG series, introduced in October 1990 and based on the VG Series Holden Utility. It was powered by a 5.0 litre V8 engine.
VP
The facelifted VP series Maloo was released in 1992.
VR
The VR series was introduced in October 1993.
VS
The facelifted VS series Maloo was released in May 1995.
VU
The heavily revised VU series HSV Maloo was introduced in March 2001. The VU featured the same 5.7 litre V8 engine as in the VX Clubsport with 255kw. VU Maloo's were also available in R8 trim, with performance brakes, 18" alloys (17" for Maloo) and more sports oriented suspension.
Y Series
The facelifted Y series was released in October 2002. The original Y series Maloo kept the same 5.7 litre LS1 engine from the VU, but power was increased to 260kw, and for series II Maloo's power went up to 285kw.
Z Series
The Z Series was introduced in October 2004 and was the first to use a 6.0 litre V8 engine.
E Series
The E Series was released in October 2007 and is offered only as the Maloo R8. This is Australia's most powerful
Coupé utility , using by aChevrolet Corvette -based 6 litre LS2 V8, outputting Convert|307|kW|hp|0|abbr=on and auto Nm|550 later advancements saw the power output rise to Convert|317|kW|hp|0|abbr=on . This title was previously held by the Z Series Maloo. Safety-wise, the E Series Maloo gainsElectronic Stability Control and linear control suspension.References
