- Jens Schive
Jens Schive (b.
18 October ,1900 ) was a Norwegian journalist and diplomat. Schive was born inGrimstad , and started his studies in 1918, the same year he started working as a journalist in the newspaperVestlandske Tidende . In 1920 he left to work for thenews agency Norsk Telegrambyrå , where he was made director of the international news department in 1932. In 1936 he becameMorgenbladet 's correspondent inMoscow , working from 1937 also for theNorwegian Broadcasting Corporation . In 1939 he accompanied the crown prince, Olav V, and his wife to theUnited States , an experience that led him to write the book "Med Kronsprinsparet - for Norge!" ("With the Crown Prince Couple - for Norway!"). During the war – 1940-45 – he was pressattaché inStockholm , where he published the newspaper "Norges Nytt" ("Norwegian News"). 1945-8 he was media director in the foreign ministry. From 1948-51 he was Norway's representative at the newIndia n government inDelhi . In 1951 he was appointed ambassador in Moscow. In 1962 he was ambassador toSweden .
