Sanjukta Ghosh

"Sanjukta Ghosh" is at present regarded as one of the stalwart of the Patiala Gharana. Initially she was under the guidance of Late Pt. Prasun Banerjee. Later for almost two decades from none other than the doyen of Patiala, Late Ustad Munawar Ali Khan, the younger son, disciple, and heir of Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan.

She also took vocal training from Ustad Ali Akbar Khan. She performed for most of the top Indian conferences, some of them being Tansen Sangeet Sammelan, Sadarang Music Conference, Haridas Sangeet Sammelan (where she was honoured with the prestigious Suromoni award), etc. She joined the renowned Ali Akbar College of Music at San Francisco, California in 1968. Her well known process led her to working with many greats including Pandit Ravi Shankar who invited her to sing for his Bangladesh album. She is the wife of the famous Tabla Maestro "Pt. Sankar Ghosh." Her son is none other than "Bikram Ghosh", the famous percussionist.
