The act comprised Helen "Pepsi" DeMacque (born
10 December 1958 , inPaddington ,London ) and Shirley "Shirlie" Holliman (born18 April 1962 , inWatford ,Hertfordshire ), who had been background vocalists for the group Wham!. Holliman's original singing partner,Dee C. Lee , had earlier left the group to marry Paul Weller.They had two UK Top Ten hits: "Heartache", which was produced by
Phil Fearon and Tambi Fernando, reached #2 in theUK Singles Chart , and "Goodbye Stranger", produced by Tambi Fernando and Pete Hammond, reached #9.Their tours included a
concert performed inAmman, Jordan .Holliman has been married since 1988 to
Martin Kemp , a former member of the groupSpandau Ballet and now anactor , whilst DeMacque resided inWellington ,New Zealand for a number of years working at a gift shop on Lambton Quay.
