Robert Wegman (1918-2006), a pioneer of the one-stop shopping concept, was the son of
Wegmans Food Markets co-founderWalter Wegman . Until his death on April 20, 2006 (age 87), Robert was an active chairperson for Wegmans. In over a half-century under his leadership, the family grocery business grew into one of the largest private companies in the country.
