James Wallace "Wally" O'Connor (
April 25 ,1905 –January 11 ,1950 ) was an American swimmer and water polo player who competed in the1924 Summer Olympics ,1928 Summer Olympics ,1932 Summer Olympics and1936 Summer Olympics .In the 1924 Olympics he won a gold medal in the 4x200 m freestyle relay event. He also was a member of American water polo team, which won a bronze medal. He played one match.
Four years later he was a member of American water polo team, which lost to France in a bronze medal match in the 1928 tournament. He played two matches and scored one goal.
In the 1932 Olympics he was a member of American water polo team, which won a bronze medal. He played all four matches.
Four years later in
Berlin he was a member of American water polo team, which won one and lost two matches in his preliminary group of the 1936 tournament. He played all three matches. He was the American flag bearer during the opening ceremonies.External links
