Wahiawa Botanical Garden

The Wahiawa Botanical Garden, 27 acres (109,000 m²) is a botanical garden on a high plateau in central Oahu, Hawaii, USA. It is one of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens, and home to a collection of tropical flora requiring a relatively cool environment, with emphasis on native Hawaiian plants.

The Garden's site began in the 1920s, the Hawaii Sugar Planters Association leased land from the State of Hawaii for experimental tree planting. Most of the Garden's large trees date from that era. The property was transferred to Honolulu in 1950, and opened as a botanical garden in 1957.

The Garden's collections include: blue ginger (Dichorisanda thyrsiflora), Cibotium chamissoi, Acacia koa, Jacaranda mimosifolia, Nageia nagi, Angiopteris evecta, Pseudobombax ellipticum (shaving brush), Clusia rosea (Autograph Tree), Myristica fragrans (nutmeg), Pimenta dioica (allspice), Ravenala madagascariensis (travellers palm), Chrysophyllum oliviforme, Pandanus utilus, Parkia javanica, Enterolobium cyclocarpum, Parmentiera cerifera (candle tree), Dillenia indica (Elephant Apple), Ficus macrophylla, Agathis robusta (Queensland Kauri), Brownea macrophylla, Manilkara zapota (chicle), Cinnamomum camphora (camphor), Cedrela odorata, Bambusa vulgaris (bamboo), Eucalyptus deglupta, Ochrosia elliptica, Freycinetia arborea, and Pipturus albidus.
