Sorona

Sorona is a unique polymer created by DuPont based on 1,3-propanediol (PDO). [ [http://www2.dupont.com/Sorona/en_US/ DuPont Sorona Polymer ] ] . Sorona (aka 3GT) is a co-polymer of "Bio-PDO" and petroleum derived terephthalate. The polymers in this series include polyethylene terephthalate (2GT), polytrimethylene terephthalate (3GT), and polybutylene terephthalate (polytetramethylene terephthalate) (4GT). The polymer Sorona has been mentioned by J. He says "DuPont argues that Sorona is going to be the first billion-dollar biotech product other than a pharmaceutical."
