Märklin-6088

The Märklin s88 is one of the components of the Märklin Digital system for controlling model trains.

The s88 feedback module contain 16 inputs that can be connected to switches in the rail or in fact any type of switch. When any of the 16 inputs is switched connected to ground the s88 module signals that the respective port(s) are grounded. This information can be read back into a computer via the interface or by the memory.
