Scott Frear was an American football coach in the United States and Finland. He left coaching abruptly after facing charges of child pornography.

Coaching History

Assistant collegiate coaching

Coaching outside the US

Coach Frear also spent eight years coaching football outside of the United states, including six years with the Finnish national team. Frear helped lead the Finnish team to three European Gold Medals as the Defensive and Special Teams Coordinator. During this period he served as Head Coach of the Arctic Circle Stars in Rovaniemi, Finland. Coach Frear also spent eight years coaching football overseas, including six years with the Finnish national team. University of St. Mary's

Frear was named the second head college football coach for the University of Saint Mary Spires located in Leavenworth, Kansas and he held that position for three seasons, from 2002 until 2004. His coaching record at St. Mary's was 10 wins, 18 losses, and 0 ties. This ranks him second at St. Mary's in total wins and second at St. Mary's in winning percentage. udden resignation

Frear was hired at Saint Mary in December 2001, and after his first season at the school he was named Coach of the Year by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference. Saint Mary was his first head-coaching job in the college ranks.

Frear suddenly resigned on the morning of August 16, 2005 when the university was made aware that federal authorities were investigating Frear on charges of child pornography.
