Jean-Stéphane Bron (born in
Lausanne in1969 ) is a Swissfilm director .
After studying under Ermanno Olmi at Italy’s Ipotesi Cinema film school, he went on to obtain an honours degree from the Audio-Visual Department (DAVI) of the School of Fine and Applied Arts of Lausanne (ECAL), in 1995. His filmography includes successful documentaries such as "Known to Our Departments" (1997), "The Way I Look at You" (1999), and "Corn in Parliament" (2003). He was awarded distinctions in Europe and the United States, most notably the New York Times Original Vision Prize in 2001, the Swiss Cinema Prize in 2004, and the SCAM International Jury Award in 2004.
His first fiction, "My Brother Is Getting Married" (2006), was chosen as Best European Film at the New European Cinema Festival in Spain and received awards for best scenario and best actor at the International French-language Film Festival in Namur in 2006.
He is currently working on the preparation of his fourth documentary film, Money, which focuses on the world of international finance.
For many years now, Bron has worked in partnership with the producer Robert Boner.Filmography
