Ben Wilson was the 29th head college football coachfor the Wichita State University Shockers located in Wichita, Kansasand he held that position for two seasons, from 1969 until 1970.His overall coaching record at Wichita State was 2 wins, 17 losses, and 0 ties. This ranks him28th at Wichita State in terms of total wins and 32nd at Wichita State in terms of winning percentage. On October 2, 1970, Wilson and his wife were killed along with 14 players on the team and several others during the Wichita State University football team plane crash en route to a game at Utah State University.
