- Ken Coates (historian)
Dr. Ken Coates is a
Canadian historian focused on the history of the Canadian North andIndigenous peoples . He is currently Dean of the Faculty of Arts at theUniversity of Waterloo .Coates received his
Ph.D. from theUniversity of British Columbia , and has held the position of Dean of Arts at theUniversity of New Brunswick (1997-2000) and theUniversity of Saskatchewan (2001–2003). In 1992, he was the founding Vice-President of theUniversity of Northern British Columbia . He taught at theUniversity of Waikato inNew Zealand from 1995-1997, and theUniversity of Victoria ,British Columbia from 1992-1995.elected bibliography
