Brigadier General Julian Stachiewicz (1890-1934) was an officer of the
Polish Army , Polish historian and writer. Brother to GeneralWacław Stachiewicz . Joined theRiflemen's Association beforeWorld War I . In the years 1914-1921 he fought in thePolish Legions in World War I ,Polish Military Organization , Greater Poland Uprising,Polish-Ukrainian War andPolish-Soviet War . He briefly commanded thePolish 13th Infantry Division and became the head of theMilitary Bureau of History ("Wojskowe Biuro Historyczne") from 1923, promoted tobrigadier general a year later. In 1928 created theMilitary Historical Review ("Wojskowy Przegląd Historyczny"), a journal that is being published to this day. Involved withPolish Radio , member of academic societies such as thePolish Academy of Learning .He was awarded the
Virtuti Militari (V class),Polonia Restituta (IV and III class),Cross of Independence with Swords and four times theCross of Valor .
