Still in its infancy with in the Australian market, the Hyosung has revitalized the 250cc market, a market that before now had been flooded with 10-15 year old "Grey Imports". Offering a full-sized motorcycle for the same price if not cheaper than the likes of the Honda CBR 250RR, the motorcycle was first welcomed to a suspicious public with its flagship motorcycle, the GT250R, experiencing frequent reliability issues and parts known to break with in the first 5000Km.
Known Issues
* Clutch cable snapping with in 5000 km. Replacement part is $20.
* Very noisy brakes at low speed.
* Rust in bolts around motorcycle.
* Soft brakes. This problem has been known to work it's self out in time.
* Flat Spot at 5000RPM . This flat spot has been introduced to meet EPA standards and can be removed by cutting a single wire. All problems were fixed in 2007, therefore any 2007 or newer bike is good.
A Frequent question on forum boards is "Hyosung GT250R vs. Honda CBR250RR. Which is better?"'The Good sides of a Hyosung is mainly the cheaper price tag. Also it has a larger sized frame (suited for 650 cc), a more user friendly V-twin engine and low down torque.
